Aviation: NavLog

I'm studying the principles behind the Aviation NavLog this week:

Procedure:
(1) Identify where you want to go, and get the Airport Codes and Radio Frequencies Filled Out
eg. KRHV (Reid Hillview in San Jose)(37.330N,121.816W) -> KPVF (Placerville) (38.225N,120.750W)

(2) Identify what waypoints you plan to use to reach your destination, and how fast you intend to travel.
Choose how high you intend to fly.
-> Landmarks visible during flight, slightly left or right of course.
-> I chose speed based on lower GPH burn-rate to maximize "endurance"
-> 2,200RPM for 96KTAS (Knots True Airspeed) Cessna 172SP
-> 040 (4,000ft) chosen to clear MOA on way and to reduce air friction and get better fuel mileage

(3a) Refer to your Aircraft's "Cruise Performance" Table (Cessna 172SP Skyhawk section 5: Performance)
--> 5-18 Time/Fuel/Distance to Climb at 2550 Pounds
--> 5-19 Cruise Performance 73 kts to reach 4000 ft.
(3b) Refer to "Winds Aloft" Chart from Weather Source Google "AWS ADD Winds Aloft"
(3c) Refer to your aircraft's Compass Deviation Table
